1. WE'RE KIND OF HARD TO FIND AND
IT DOESN'T LOOK VERY PRETTY WHEN YOU GET HERE
We hate to admit this but it's totally true. The turn is a bit awkward & some people miss it. The best way to prepare is to check it out on the Google map and know what you're dealing with ahead of time. Then there's the fact that we're surrounded by tractors and meeting in a renovated metal shop building.
Come INSIDE! It gets way better, we promise!
2. WE DRESS PRETTY CASUAL
Okay, you might spot the occasional suit jacket or tie but it's pretty rare around New City. Come comfy - we will!
3. YOU'LL MEET FRIENDLY, OUTGOING PEOPLE
So every church says this, right?
Well, experience has taught us that it's the truth around here.
We remember our first time to church and we don't want yours to be awkward. That is why people will say, "hi" and smile a bit more than normal around here; we're just trying to help you relax a bit. Please don't feel bad if someone doesn't say hi to you (it's pretty rare but that does happen at times!).
It's a big crowd by Great Falls' standards and it's easy to overlook someone at least once. We'll do our best to make sure it doesn't happen twice!
4. YOUR KIDS WILL HAVE A BLAST
Why didn't you ask about kids sooner?! Oh yeah, we made this website - sorry!
You can get way more information here but the bottom line is that we love kids and we have several great volunteer teams that prove it on a weekly basis. Every person that works with minors at New City has been interviewed, trained and completed a background check to ensure your child's safety.
If your kids are between Kindergarten and 6th Grade, be sure to drop them off at the GC Building (right across the parking lot) before you get to the main building (for all 3 services). Don't sweat it; if you forget we'll get them there eventually. Once we do, they will have a blast with live music, peer interaction and creative communication designed to grip them in a good way.
All other children (those not yet in Kindergarten and those in grade 7 or higher) can come with you to the main building. We'll point them in the right direction once they get there.
5. YOU'LL HEAR UP-BEAT MUSIC
Grading on the curve, our music is pretty upbeat. At New City you're likely to see people singing, raising their hands, and even a few people kind of dancing here and there. We're not ALL super-charismatic and we're not going to expect you to be, in fact, we understand that you might be still deciding if you even believe in God. We've been rescued by a God that loves us and that's worth getting excited about. But we also know that sometimes the most excited person in the room isn't giving you any clues with their body movements. We want to raise our HEARTS to God - and we'll let Him be the Judge of who is doing that.
WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU!
